Seeking Recommendations for Reliable UPS Brands Beyond Tripp Lite

Hi everyone, I’m currently in the process of standardizing our UPS units and wanted to share my experiences and seek your recommendations. For years, we’ve relied on Tripp Lite’s SmartPro line, specifically their 1U units, which have been both cost-effective and dependable. However, with Tripp Lite now being part of Eaton and no longer offering direct sales, we’re looking into alternative brands to ensure continuity in our operations.

I’ve had mixed experiences with other brands. While APC (now under Schneider) has a solid reputation, I’ve only worked with Tripp Lite and APC previously. Recently, I tried a couple of CyberPower units, but unfortunately, both failed shortly after installation. The first one failed within the first week, and the replacement after an RMA also gave up after about 18 months. It was quite the hassle, especially with the 4-hour drive to swap units out and back. This made me wonder if CyberPower might not be the best fit for our needs.

I’ve also come across Middle Atlantic units, but they seem quite expensive, which is a concern given our budget constraints. Vertiv is another brand I’ve noticed popping up more frequently, but I’m not sure about their reliability or performance compared to the others. Are there other brands I should consider that offer a good balance of quality and affordability?

If anyone has had positive experiences with specific UPS brands or can provide insights into their performance and longevity, I’d greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts. Whether it’s about reliability, customer support, or integration with existing systems, your input would be invaluable as we navigate this transition.

Thank you in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing your recommendations!
