Hello everyone, I’m diving into the world of home automation and I’m looking for some advice on selecting the right Zigbee in-wall relays for my EU switches. I’ve successfully integrated various smart devices so far, but this is my first foray into in-wall automation, which feels a bit more complex and sensitive.
I’m searching for a solution that offers dimmer capabilities, especially for my LED lights (G10 at 5W and E27 at 2.7W), and is compatible with ZHA. While I currently rely on ZHA, I’m curious if integrating Tasmota or MQTT devices is feasible or if they might conflict with my existing setup. Another important factor is the absence of a neutral wire, so I need a device that can work without it.
My ideal setup would include support for multiple gangs or channels, allowing me to control different circuits or devices from a single relay. Additionally, I’m interested in any bonus features like internal temperature monitoring or energy consumption tracking, though these are not dealbreakers.
I have a few specific use cases in mind:
- Using a physical on-off switch for control while managing dimming through HA.
- Implementing a two-gang setup where one gang controls a light physically, and the other controls another device remotely.
- Supporting rotary dimmer switches for a seamless user experience.
I’m wondering if a single device can meet all these requirements or if I need to consider multiple devices. Also, I’m concerned about compatibility and safety, so any insights into potential issues or considerations would be invaluable.
If I opt for a three-channel relay, would that allow me to control three separate circuits or enable more flexible control over two circuits? And in the event of a Zigbee connectivity issue, would I still be able to control the physically connected circuits manually? These are critical questions I need to address before making a purchase.
I came across a product on AliExpress, but the reviews suggest it requires at least 10W, which doesn’t fit my low-power LED setup. I’m hoping the community can recommend alternatives that better align with my needs.
Thank you in advance for your guidance and experiences! I’m excited to learn from your expertise and take my home automation to the next level.
