I’ve been using a Sonos Play:1 speaker to auto-play a specific Amazon music playlist via the SmartThings-Sonos integration. While it works, I’ve been running into some reliability issues. Unless Sonos is on my local network and I manually reset it once a month, the system randomly disconnects from WiFi, which breaks my automation setup.
I’m really looking for a more reliable, integrated solution that can handle automated, volume-adjustable, and playlist-compatible music playback. I’ve heard about Alexa Speaks and am curious if it’s one of the few viable options out there.
I’m already using Amazon for playlist integration, so ideally, I’d like something that can play, pause, select, and adjust volume levels on music playlists without the hassle of constant resets. Has anyone had success with alternatives that integrate smoothly with SmartThings?
