Hey everyone! I’ve successfully integrated my main water meter into Home Assistant using an ESP32-CAM and it’s now part of my Energy Dashboard. That’s been super helpful for tracking overall water consumption. Now, I’m looking to take it a step further by monitoring the water usage specifically from my outdoor tap, which is used for gardening.
The challenge here is that both the indoor and outdoor water usage are measured by the same main water meter. However, the outdoor water is priced differently—1€/m³ compared to 2€/m³ for indoor use. I’d love to separate these two usages to accurately calculate the costs for each.
Here’s what I’m thinking:
- Indoor Usage: Total water usage minus outdoor usage, priced at 2€/m³.
- Outdoor Usage: Measured separately, priced at 1€/m³.
I believe using a template sensor or the Utility Meter integration in Home Assistant could help achieve this. Has anyone successfully implemented a similar setup? Any tips or guidance on how to structure this would be greatly appreciated!
