Hi all, I’m really excited about setting up a multi-room audio system using Raspberry Pi and OH2. I’ve been researching online but am struggling to find a concise setup guide, so I thought I’d share my journey and see if anyone has similar experiences or tips to share.First, I want to use OH2 running on a Raspberry Pi as the central controller. From what I’ve gathered, there are a few key components I need to consider:- MPD: For music playback.- Bubble UPnP: To sync playlists across devices.- Openhome: For playlist synchronization.- Linn Kazoo: For a sleek interface. My goal is to create a system where each room has its own Raspberry Pi renderer, all synced through OH2. I also want to trigger music based on scenes, like having a specific playlist start when I enter a room or when the sun sets.I found a guide that seems somewhat similar (link), but I’m not sure how well it translates to my setup. I’m particularly curious about the media server software and the OH2 bindings that would work best together. How does everything integrate? I’m hoping someone has a working setup they can share or at least some pointers on getting started.I’m also thinking about the hardware side of things. Should I use a specific model of Raspberry Pi for better performance? And what about the speakers and amplifiers? I’d love to hear recommendations on components that work well together in a multi-room setup.Another thing I’m pondering is how to handle different audio zones. For example, I want the living room to have a different playlist than the kitchen, but still be able to control everything from a single interface. Is there a way to automate this based on sensor inputs, like motion detectors or time of day?I’m really looking forward to hearing from others who have tackled similar projects. Whether it’s advice on software configurations, hardware choices, or just general tips, I appreciate any input you can offer. Let’s make this happen! ![]()
