Aqara Home Intragration

My Experience
Pairing Process was very smooth to setup both of theses, I also have an AppleTV and integrated the locks to it via Matter ver easily!

I’ve loved the app control side of things, I’m actually using the locks via Aqara home, home assistant and Apple Home. Experimenting with different options, automations linking into other ecosystems outside of Aqara in my house but also other small wins like which is the quickest way to unlock it when I’m arriving back in my car and it’s raining!

I’ve had very little issues. The auto detecting for auto lock has been hit and miss (I’ve actually upgraded this to use Aqara contact sensors and then triggering to lock the door).

The biggest issue I have is with my type of lock in the UK & Ireland in that I need to lift the handle up to engage the latch and allow the lock to close.

This is fine 90% of the time but if a guest doesn’t do it, the app will produce an error lock. Which can be fixed by putting the handle up and triggering an unlock and lock again or manual lock.

The issue comes from automations that trigger the device to lock, ideally I’d like the lock to just resume BAU once the door opens again, (my automation is triggered from Home Assistant). But if HA sends a lock door action the lock will ignore it if it currently has a cylinder lock error.

It’s a small issue and easily worked around, I know I can buy a latch that auto engages to solve the whole issue but haven’t got round to looking at those options yet!

@psjmcneill Thanks so much for sharing your in - depth experiences with the Aqara U200 and U200 Lite locks! Your insights are truly valuable to our community.

It’s great to hear that the pairing process was smooth for you across different ecosystems like Aqara Home, Home Assistant, and Apple Home. Your experimentation with various automations and the quest to find the quickest unlocking method in different scenarios show your tech - savvy approach.

Regarding the auto - lock detection being inconsistent, it’s a common challenge some users face. Your solution of using Aqara contact sensors to trigger the lock is a creative workaround.

The issue with the lock in the UK & Ireland where the handle needs to be lifted is indeed a bit tricky, especially when guests are involved. And the problem with the automation being ignored when there’s a lock error is something that other users might encounter as well.

If you have any suggestions for improvement, feel free to submit them through manual customer service feedback. Keep sharing your experiences with us, as they can help other users make the most of their Aqara smart locks!

Unfortunately, my door is too tight. I have to pull the door knob back before I can turn the key. I’ve asked several handymen, and they all say there’s nothing wrong — it’s meant to be tight; otherwise, the door would rattle when the wind blows. :unamused::-1:
