I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation for the past few months, and I’m absolutely thrilled with how far I’ve come! My journey started with a simple goal: to replace my traditional light switches with something more modern and efficient. After researching various options, I decided to go with Shelly devices paired with Home Assistant. The combination has been nothing short of amazing!
The Challenge
Initially, I faced a bit of a puzzle. I have two light switches controlling a single lamp, but the setup was problematic. The lamp would only light up briefly, and the switches seemed to conflict with each other. The result? Seamless control of my lamp from either switch! No more brief flickers or conflicts. The integration with Home Assistant has also opened up a world of possibilities, like voice control through Google Home and scheduling the lamp to turn on at specific times.
