Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Shelly Pro 1 devices. I’ve been using them for a while now, and overall, I’m quite satisfied with their performance. However, there were a few hiccups initially that I thought I’d document in case anyone else encounters similar issues.
Initially, I noticed that the Shelly Pro 1 devices would occasionally freeze, making them unresponsive. After some research and troubleshooting, I discovered that adjusting the network settings on the connected switch ports made a significant difference. Specifically, setting the ports to a fixed 100 Mbps and full duplex mode, while disabling auto-negotiation, seemed to resolve the freezing issue entirely. This was a bit of a trial-and-error process, but it paid off!
Another thing I found useful was disabling Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the Shelly devices since I’m using them purely over LAN. This not only improved their reliability but also reduced any potential interference from wireless signals. It’s amazing how a simple adjustment like that can make such a big difference.
I’d like to extend a big thank you to the support team for their guidance. Their suggestion to try the LAN settings first was spot on, and it helped me pinpoint the issue quickly. For anyone else considering the Shelly Pro 1, I’d say go for it! They’re versatile, easy to integrate, and once you get the settings just right, they perform exceptionally well. I’m now using them without any wireless protocols, and they’ve become an indispensable part of my smart home setup.
