Hello,

I receive mine today. I have a Home Assistant green box with Thread USB key (Sonoff Zdongle), OTBR from HA and Matter in HA also. I have no Aqara Hub (I don’t like hubsssss).

The pairing with matter over thread has been successful at first time. You remove the battery protection, the mobile phone popup a new thread device need to be paired. Flash the QRcode, waits 1 minute, click on create Matter device and that’s all.

That is really impressive and always made me so glad to see a such simple procedure.

After this, the device is seen in HA with those entities:

Note the 4 identify button which are useless. Others matter devices have the same issues. So I guess this is not a Aqara issue.

You can also notice that there is no tuning entities like delays or sensitivity which are present in other PIR device.

The detection works just fine without any tuning. Around 7 meters detection for presence .

I understand there was a distance entity measuring the distance of a moving object. I don’t have it.

Maybe it will come later with Matter or Thread futur release.

The lux sensor is very quick, temperature sensors seems more slow and not accurate (it tells me 23° but the real temperature is not more than 21° - verified with another temperature sensor).

The movement or presence detection is very fast (< 1s) and turn off after 5 sec when no more presence is detected.

So for now all is fine ! I will post some news is something else happens.

Have you tested it with pet ? Or have you seen option for pet ? (detect it, don’t detect it, etc…)

I received mine today and I’m also very happy. However, I have the same issue: when connected to Matter, it doesn’t work because I don’t have a hub (Sonoff Zdongle).

I was surprised that there isn’t a motion (PIR) entity.

What are the 4 identify buttons used for?

They make the device blinks. Then you can find it and check that it works. The 4 entities seems to be due to a matter inetgration bug. Only one is necessary. I have others Matter device with such issues.

I just have an issue with the FP300 after 1 month without any issue.
The device simply stops to work. All entities in HA are undefined.

I click 5 sec on the button, and it proposes me to pair another time (same screen as my first installation).

The pairing works fine but if I look at the device in matter section, I see that all attributes are doubled:

I have to rename the new attributes will the old one name to recover all feature.

Note that another device with matter over thread has also been in unknown state. A simple disconnect / reconnect has fixed the issue.

With battery powered device, it is more complicate to reboot it.

The attritubes being doubled is related to home assistant issue. Go to the Matter Server in your home assistant and delete the old device entry will solve this issue.

In the Settings → Add-Ons, go to Matter Server → Open WebUI. Under Nodes, the removed node will be listed as failed (or something like that). Click on that node and select Remove. This will remove the device and entities.
