Hello everyone, I’ve been exploring some amazing DIY smart home projects lately and I’m really inspired by the creativity and innovation in this community! I wanted to share a couple of my favorites and hear about yours too.
First up, I came across the diyHue project on GitHub. It’s a Philips Hue emulator that supports multiple types of lights, including ZigBee, Mi-Light, Neopixel strips, and even ESP8266 bulbs. The fact that it’s written in Python and runs on Raspberry Pi makes it accessible to so many people. I’d love to try setting this up myself to control my lights in a more customized way. Have any of you worked with this project before? I’d love to hear your experiences! Another project that caught my eye is the Mote light integration with Home Assistant. Using Mote strips to create stunning effects like Larson scanners, rainbows, and tiedye patterns sounds like a lot of fun. Plus, the ability to control them through Home Assistant makes it a versatile solution. I’m thinking of using this in my living room for some dynamic lighting effects. If anyone has tips or custom setups they’d like to share, I’d be super grateful!
I’d also love to hear about your favorite DIY projects! Whether it’s a clever automation, a unique device integration, or a cool hardware hack, we’d all love to learn from your experiences. Let’s inspire each other to keep pushing the boundaries of smart home technology!
