first of all, English is not my native language – I am from Germany and speak German. I wrote this post with the help of ChatGPT so that I can describe my problem as clearly as possible in English.
I have a problem with an Aqara Shutter Switch H2 EU controlling two roller shutter motors.
My setup is:
Aqara Shutter Switch H2 EU → R1-UNI separating relay (Trennrelais) → 2 roller shutter motors
Both motors should always move together, so I would like to keep using only one H2 switch.
The problem is the automatic end-position/load detection.
Originally, the H2 stopped after approximately 2 seconds because the load through the R1-UNI was apparently too low. I already tried adding base-load elements (Grundlastelemente), and this solved the 2-second shutdown problem.
However, calibration still does not work correctly.
I have tried Smart Calibration and Custom Calibration several times. I also set the current-based motor stop threshold as low as possible (1 W).
To test the problem further, I temporarily installed two physical ON/OFF switches in the UP and DOWN control wires between the H2 and the R1-UNI. This allows me to manually interrupt the load signal during calibration.
During Custom Calibration I can do the following:
- Shutters reach the upper end position → I interrupt the UP wire → H2 immediately clicks, switches the output off and continues calibration.
- Shutters reach the lower end position → I interrupt the DOWN wire → H2 immediately clicks, switches the output off and continues calibration.
- This allows me to complete the calibration procedure.
But afterwards, during normal operation, there is still a strange difference:
DOWN: When both shutters reach the lower end position, the H2 detects it correctly and switches the output off.
UP: When both shutters reach the upper end position, both motors stop at their physical end positions, but the H2 does NOT switch its output off. The LED stays on and there is no relay click.
If I then manually interrupt the UP wire with my temporary switch, the H2 immediately detects this, clicks and switches the output off.
So the H2 seems capable of detecting the interruption, but it does not recognize the upper end position through the R1-UNI, while the lower end position works.
I also found an existing Aqara Community topic about the H2 EU failing calibration with two motors. That topic was closed after the problem was apparently solved with Aqara Support, but unfortunately I could not find the actual solution.
Does anyone know what the solution was in that case?
Or has anyone successfully used an H2 EU with a separating relay / Trennrelais and two roller shutter motors?
I would really like to keep the H2 instead of replacing it with another relay/module if there is a way to make this setup work.
