I created a signal in Aqara by going to the Connect to Ecosystems section (matter). Once complete I expected to see it in apple home as an occupancy trigger but it doesn’t show up anywhere in apple home. Is there an additional step required after creating the signal in Aqara to transfer it to apple home?
Normally, after successfully creating a signal in Aqara Home and adding to Matter, a new motion sensor will appear in Apple Home. Please confirm the following:
- Is the Hub (M3 or others) where the signal is located connected to Apple Home via Matter (rather than HomeKit)?
- Locate the newly added motion sensor device in the 【corresponding room’s】 device list—its name should match the Aqara signal name.
My primary Hub M3 appears to be connected with Apple Home via Matter but I am not sure if I specifically used the matter code. When I go to the Aqara settings/Third-Party Matter Ecosystem in Aqara for the M3 the only connected ecosystem is Apple Keychain.
The G5 Cameras I am using which have the signals are not connected via matter.
My concern is if I now connect these via matter now will I have two instances of the cameras in Apple Home?
The Camera G5 Pro does not create two instances of the cameras when connected to Apple Home via Matter. Currently, Matter does not yet support the device type “Matter Camera.” The role of the Camera G5 Pro is as a Matter Bridge.
Please confirm which Hub the signal you created in Aqara Home belongs to (you can check by selecting “add to Matter” in Signal Management).
