When 2 people are sleeping, any way go get FP2 to get “person inn bed” data?
@caublet The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2’s sleep monitoring function is designed specifically for single-person detection. If you want to monitor two people, the best approach is to install separate FP2 devices and set distinct sleeping areas for each. This helps to ensure accurate sleep data, as nearby objects or additional people can interfere with the monitoring results.
You might want to consider setting up individual zones for each person to minimize interference and improve the accuracy of the data collected. If you have any more questions or ideas to share, feel free to continue the discussion!
I’ve tried that but I get a lot of false positive… not really reliable. I’ve placed it at 5 feet on the wall directly over our pillow in the middle of the bed. Maybe the placement is incorrect?
@caublet It sounds like you’re experiencing some challenges with the placement of your Aqara Presence Sensor FP2, which might be causing those false positives. For optimal performance, especially in a shared sleeping environment, it’s crucial to position the sensor carefully to minimize interference. Here are some suggestions from the reference information that might help:
-
Positioning: The sensor’s effectiveness can significantly depend on its placement. For sleep monitoring, try positioning the sensor at an angle where it can effectively cover each individual zone separately. Placing it directly above might not be ideal, as it could lead to overlapping detection zones.
-
Detection Zones: Consider setting up distinct zones for each person to help the sensor better differentiate between them. This can reduce interference and improve data accuracy.
-
Adjust Sensitivity: You might also want to fine-tune the detection sensitivity. Higher sensitivity can detect smaller movements, which might be beneficial if you’re getting false absence notifications. Lowering it might help reduce false positives.
-
Interference Sources: Ensure there are no moving objects like curtains or fans directly in front of the sensor, as these can lead to false alarms.
If these adjustments still don’t provide the desired accuracy, you might need to experiment with different positions or settings until you find the best configuration. Keep the community updated with your progress or any other insights you might have!

Where should I locate the fan?
@caublet When it comes to positioning a fan in a room with the Aqara Presence Sensor FP2, it’s important to minimize potential interference that could lead to false alarms. Here are some tips:
-
Placement Away from Sensor: Ideally, the fan should be positioned outside the direct line of sight of the sensor. If the fan’s movement is detected by the sensor, it could cause false positives.
-
Interference Zones: If the fan cannot be moved, consider marking its location as an “interference source” in the sensor’s settings. This helps the sensor understand that the movement is not from a person, reducing false alerts.
-
Blind Spots: Try to place the fan in the sensor’s blind spots if possible. The sensor has a 120-degree horizontal detection range, so positioning the fan out of this range can help.
-
Height Consideration: Ensure the fan is not close to the height level where the sensor is installed, as this could also contribute to detection issues.
By following these guidelines, you should be able to maintain accurate detection from your Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 while keeping your fan in use. If you have any additional insights or questions, feel free to share!
