Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart cameras lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and tips. I recently picked up the DCS-5222L D-Link Smart Camera and integrated it with my SmartThings Hub. While the setup was straightforward, I ran into a bit of a snag when trying to control it directly from the Things section of the SmartThings app. Initially, I could only refresh or reboot the camera, which was a bit frustrating. However, after some research, I discovered that using a SmartApp could unlock more functionalities like pan/tilt control.
I’ve been experimenting with setting this up and it’s been a learning curve, but also really rewarding. If anyone has tips on how to streamline this process or integrate other smart devices seamlessly, I’d love to hear them! 
On a related note, I’ve also been exploring how to combine multiple smart devices into a cohesive system. For instance, pairing my smart camera with motion sensors and lights has taken my home security to the next level. It’s all about creating that interconnected ecosystem that truly makes life easier.
