- Battery Life: The hall effect sensor I used had an LED for debugging, which drained the battery faster. I removed the LED once everything was set up to improve battery life.
- Configuration: Adjusting the pulses per kWh setting in Z2M was crucial for accurate readings. I also created a template sensor to convert gas usage from cubic meters to kWh for consistency.
- Placement: Positioning the sensor correctly on the meter was key. I used some Blu-Tack to keep it steady and ensure reliable readings.
