Smart Garden Automation and Openhabian Setup Tips

Hello everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with automating my garden watering system using Homey. It’s been a fun challenge, and I thought I’d walk through my setup in case anyone else is looking to do something similar. :seedling:First, I connected my smart irrigation valves and a weather station to Homey. The goal was to automate watering for mornings and evenings, but with a rain check feature to conserve water. I stumbled a bit with the flow configuration at first, but after some research and trial and error, I got it working smoothly! The weather station really helps in making the system smarter—it skips watering if it rains, which is a huge plus. For those of you who are into Openhabian, I also wanted to share a quick tip. I recently upgraded my setup and had some questions about where to store custom bindings. After a bit of digging, I found that placing them in /etc/openhab2/addons works perfectly. It keeps everything organized and accessible. If anyone needs help with similar setups, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to share more details! :hammer_and_wrench:Lastly, I wanted to mention the upcoming Prime Day—while it’s a US-focused event, I’ve heard some great deals on smart home devices. If anyone has tips on how to access these deals from outside the US, I’d love to hear them! Let’s make the most of this shopping spree for our smart homes! :briefcase:Happy automating, everyone! :star2:
