Smart Garden Automation: My Journey to a Greener Thumb

I’m thrilled to share my latest project: automating my garden! :seedling: I’ve always loved gardening, but keeping up with watering and monitoring plant health has been a challenge. That’s why I decided to turn my garden into a smart ecosystem using Home Assistant and various IoT devices.I started by installing a smart sprinkler system controlled by a Shelly 1PM. It’s been a game-changer! Now, I can set watering schedules based on weather forecasts and soil moisture levels. I also added a soil moisture sensor from Ecowitt, which sends real-time data to Home Assistant. The integration has been seamless, and I love how everything works together. One thing I’m struggling with is fine-tuning the watering schedule. My garden has different zones with varying sunlight and soil types, so I need to adjust the sprinklers accordingly. Any tips on optimizing this setup would be greatly appreciated!Another challenge has been ensuring the system adapts to unexpected weather changes. I have a weather station, but sometimes the forecasts aren’t accurate enough. I’m considering adding more sensors or integrating a more robust weather API. Has anyone tackled a similar issue?I’m also curious about adding plant health monitoring. I’ve heard about sensors that can detect plant stress or nutrient levels, but I’m not sure where to start. Any recommendations or experiences to share would be invaluable!Overall, I’m really enjoying this project. It’s been a great way to combine my love for gardening with technology. I can’t wait to see how my garden thrives with this smart setup. Thanks to everyone in the community for your inspiration and support! :star2:
