Smart Home Automation Success Story: Motion-Activated Bathroom Lighting

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my recent smart home project with you all—it’s been a game-changer for my daily routine. I recently installed the Aeon Labs G5 6-in-1 Z-Wave device in my bathroom, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results.

The setup was a bit of a challenge at first, especially since I had to involve an electrician to rewire some of the switches. But once everything was connected, the transformation was incredible. I replaced my old incandescent bulbs with smart LED bulbs, which not only save energy but also provide a much brighter and more consistent light.

One feature I’m particularly excited about is the motion sensor integration. Now, whenever I walk into the bathroom at night, the lights automatically turn on, which is such a small but significant convenience. The smart LED bulbs also have a warm color setting, which makes the space feel cozy and welcoming.

I did run into a minor issue with the SmartApp setup initially. The default Bathroom Lighting Control app was designed for a single light, but I wanted to control multiple bulbs simultaneously. After some research and reaching out to the community, I found a workaround that allowed me to link all the bulbs together. It’s been running smoothly ever since!

Overall, this project has been a fantastic way to enhance my home’s functionality while keeping things simple and user-friendly. I’m already brainstorming my next smart home upgrade based on how well this has worked out. Huge thanks to the community for all the support and resources—this wouldn’t have been possible without you all! :raised_hands:
