After months of planning and tinkering, I’m thrilled to share my smart home automation journey! 
My setup revolves around a Raspberry Pi paired with Home Assistant, and it’s been a game-changer for managing my smart devices and routines.
My Setup
I started with the basics: a Raspberry Pi 4, a compact and powerful device perfect for home automation. Pairing it with Home Assistant gave me the flexibility to customize my smart home ecosystem exactly how I wanted it. I’ve integrated everything from lighting to climate control, all managed through a sleek, intuitive interface.
Challenges and Learning
It wasn’t all smooth sailing. Configuring the initial setup required some trial and error, especially with integrating Zigbee devices. I learned the importance of proper device placement and the value of community forums for troubleshooting. The Home Assistant community is amazing—full of helpful tips and shared experiences!
Lighting Automation
One of my favorite projects was setting up lighting automation using Govee LED strips. I wanted a system that adapts to my mood and daily schedule.
