Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into setting up my smart home cameras and thought I’d share some of my experiences and tips. 
First off, I recently installed a couple of Govee RGBIC cameras and they’ve been a game-changer for my home security. The color accuracy and night vision are top-notch, and the app integration with Home Assistant has been seamless. A minor tweak I had to make was adjusting the motion sensitivity to avoid false alarms from our mischievous cat. 
On the firmware front, I noticed a new update for my Reolink cameras a few days ago. While the update process was straightforward, I was a bit puzzled about the lack of detailed release notes. I ended up installing it just to stay on top of security patches, but I’m still curious about the specific improvements. If anyone has insights or noticed any changes, I’d love to hear! 
Another thing I’ve been exploring is automating my lighting system using Python scripts. I stumbled upon a fantastic state machine approach for my washing machine that automatically adjusts the lighting based on the cycle. It’s been a fun project and has saved me from manually toggling lights every time. If anyone’s interested, I’d be happy to share the code! 
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with integrating my Zigbee devices into Home Assistant. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, especially with ensuring all devices are properly paired and recognized. A helpful tip I found was using the Hubitat app for managing Z-Wave devices alongside Zigbee, which has streamlined my setup.
