Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips in case they can help others. ![]()
First, I’ve been working with the MTN6309xx ARGUS sensor and MTN6276xx push button. My goal was to set them up in a way that allows me to control a room’s lighting system through a 2-gang push button. The top buttons would handle dimming, while the bottom ones would toggle the lights on and off. However, there’s an added layer of functionality: when the lights are turned on via the button, the ARGUS sensor should deactivate, preventing the lights from turning off automatically. Conversely, when the lights are turned off, the ARGUS sensor should activate, ensuring the lights come back on when someone enters the room.
At first, I struggled with getting the parameters just right for the ETS (Event Triggered Service). I spent hours tweaking different settings, but nothing seemed to work as intended. After some research and reaching out to the community, I finally found a solution that involved adjusting the sensor sensitivity and button press duration parameters. It was a bit trial and error, but it’s such a relief to have everything working smoothly now! ![]()
Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is the Google Home command colors feature. I was curious about how to customize the color settings for my smart lights. After some digging, I discovered that you can use specific color codes in your voice commands to achieve precise color tones. For example, saying, “Hey Google, set the living room lights to #FF6B6B” gives a beautiful coral shade. It’s a fun way to add a personal touch to your smart home setup! ![]()
I’d love to hear from others who have tackled similar projects or have tips for optimizing smart home devices. Whether it’s parameter settings, voice command hacks, or creative automation ideas, let’s keep the discussion going! ![]()
