I’ve recently embarked on my smart home journey, and I must say, it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience! 
I wanted to share my setup process and some tips in case anyone else is looking to integrate similar devices.
Govee Heater Experience
First off, I’ve been using the Govee Heater for a couple of weeks now, and I’m thoroughly impressed! The unit heats up quickly and evenly, making it perfect for smaller spaces. While the packaging isn’t as sleek as some other brands, the performance more than makes up for it. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, budget-friendly space heater. The only minor downside is that it doesn’t quite meet my personal needs, but I can see why it’s a favorite for many!
Video Doorbell and Security Camera Setup
Next, I’ve been working on setting up a video doorbell and outdoor security camera system. My goal was to create a setup that’s easy to access remotely, subscription-free, and uses existing 12V wiring. After some research, I decided on a system that includes a video doorbell with live view functionality and an outdoor camera. Both devices connect seamlessly via Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for complex Ethernet setups.
One thing I discovered is the importance of choosing the right storage solution. Initially, I was considering a standalone NVR, but after some consideration, I opted for cameras with built-in SD card slots. This approach simplified the setup and provided enough storage for a few days’ worth of footage, which is perfect for my needs.

For anyone looking to integrate similar systems, here are a few tips I’ve learned along the way:

Looking Ahead
This project has inspired me to explore even more smart home solutions. I’m currently eyeing some Govee LED light bars for mood lighting and considering adding a few more security cameras for comprehensive coverage.
