Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into my latest smart home project, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips for those of you looking to enhance your lighting setup. 
Recently, I’ve been experimenting with custom lighting solutions for my IKEA Lack shelves and Besta TV unit. Pairing these with smoked glass doors and an LCD clock display has really transformed my living space. I’ve also been working on a custom gaming desk, and the lighting integration has been a game-changer! 
One thing I’ve learned is the importance of selecting the right LED strips for the job. I’ve been using Govee LED strips, and their versatility has been incredible. Whether it’s creating a mysterious ambiance or brightening up a room, they’ve exceeded my expectations. 
I’ve also encountered a few challenges along the way. For instance, I struggled with getting my Vera Edge controller to recognize my Sonos PLAY:1 devices correctly. After some research, I found that adjusting the model settings in the advanced variables section temporarily fixed the issue, but it reverted after a while. If anyone has a more permanent solution, I’d love to hear it! 
Another thing I’ve been pondering is how to integrate my existing security system with a more modern setup. I’ve been reading about Surety and their approach to home security, and it seems promising. However, I’m still unsure about the compatibility with my current DSC alarm system. If anyone has experience transitioning from a traditional alarm system to a more modern setup, I’d appreciate any insights! 
On a lighter note, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with the new features Govee has been rolling out. The Lucky Capsule Machine has been a blast, and the points system has made shopping for new gadgets even more exciting!
