Smart Home Setup and My First Impressions

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my experience setting up my first smart home devices. It’s been a whirlwind of learning and discovery, and I couldn’t be happier with how things are coming together. :star2:

I started with the basics—installing motion sensors, smart lights, and a thermostat. One thing that really surprised me was how easy it was to integrate everything. I’ve been using the Fibaro Home Center Lite, and while it took a bit of tweaking, I’m now able to control most of my devices from one app. The only hiccup so far has been figuring out how to display the status of my garage door sensor. It’s showing temperature data, but I can’t seem to get it to show whether the door is open or closed. Any tips would be appreciated!

Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is creating routines. I set up a simple one where the lights turn on when I open the garage door, and it’s been a lifesaver. The only downside is that sometimes the lights stay on longer than I’d like, but I’m sure I’ll figure that out soon. :rocket:

I also wanted to mention the Wyze cameras I installed. They’ve been fantastic, but I did run into an issue where the live stream kept disconnecting. After a few restarts and some troubleshooting, it’s working perfectly now. I’m really impressed with how reliable they are. :package:

If anyone has tips on integrating more devices or creating more complex routines, I’d love to hear them! This journey has been so rewarding, and I’m excited to see where it goes next. Thanks to everyone in this community for all the support and inspiration! :bulb:
