Smart Humidity Control in My Kids' Bedrooms

Hey everyone, I’m here to share my journey with setting up smart humidity control in my kids’ bedrooms. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m thrilled with how it’s coming together!

I started by setting up one bedroom with a Bluetooth hygrometer as the trigger for a Light humidifier and a heater. The system worked perfectly, maintaining the desired humidity level of 50%. So, I decided to replicate this setup in the second bedroom, purchasing another humidifier and hygrometer. However, things didn’t go as smoothly as I hoped.

Both systems began overshooting the humidity by a significant margin. Just this morning, I woke up to over 60% humidity when it should have stopped at 50%. At first, I thought it might be the comfort sleep mode causing issues, but turning that off and using the set level didn’t help. It seems like the Bluetooth connection isn’t as reliable as I hoped, requiring me to open the app manually to adjust settings.

Determined to fix this, I decided to try setting up a distributed gateway. I’m hoping this will alleviate the Bluetooth connectivity issues and allow both systems to function independently without constant manual intervention. I’ll keep you updated on how this goes!

In the meantime, I’m curious if anyone else has experienced similar issues with Bluetooth hygrometers and humidifiers. Have you found a solution or workaround? I’d love to hear your experiences and tips!

On a lighter note, seeing my kids wake up in a comfortable, humid environment has made all the effort worthwhile. It’s such a peace of mind knowing their rooms are optimized for a good night’s sleep. I can’t wait to perfect this setup and maybe even expand it to other areas of the house!

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your insights!
