Smart Irrigation Automation for My Garden

Hi everyone, I’m new to the world of smart home automation and I’m really excited to share my journey with you. I’ve been trying to set up an irrigation system for my garden using Home Assistant and Smart Irrigation. It’s been quite a learning curve, but I’m determined to get it right!

I’ve installed the Smart Irrigation integration and connected it to my OpenWeatherMap account to get accurate weather data for my location. I also have a Feuchtesensor (moisture sensor) in my garden to monitor the soil conditions. The goal is to water my plants only when necessary, based on the weather forecast and the actual moisture levels in the soil.

However, I’m running into a bit of trouble. The automation doesn’t seem to be working as expected. I’ve checked the integration settings multiple times, and everything seems to be configured correctly. The weather data is coming in, and the moisture sensor is providing readings, but the irrigation system isn’t activating when it should.

I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing in the configuration. Maybe the thresholds for moisture levels are set too high or too low? Or perhaps there’s an issue with the integration itself. I’ve looked through the documentation and forums, but I haven’t found a solution yet.

I’d really appreciate any advice or tips you can offer. Have you successfully set up a similar system? What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them? I’m eager to learn from your experiences!

On a positive note, I’ve managed to get the basic irrigation functionality working manually, and it’s been a great help during the dry spells we’ve had lately. I’m just hoping to get the automation part sorted out soon so I can fully rely on the system to take care of my garden while I’m away.

Thanks in advance for your support! I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
