Smart Irrigation Setup with Soil Sensors and Weather Integration

Hey everyone! I’m really excited to dive into creating a smart irrigation system for my garden. I’ve been researching how to integrate soil sensors and weather data to make watering my plants more efficient and eco-friendly. :seedling:I’ve come across some great devices like the Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller and the Rainbird ESP-WH Smart Sprinkler System, but I’m not entirely sure which one would be the best fit for my setup. I’m also looking into soil moisture sensors and weather stations that can connect with my SmartThings hub. Here’s what I’ve got so far:- Water Valves: I need reliable valves that can turn on and off based on soil moisture levels.- Soil Sensors: I want sensors that can accurately measure moisture and send data to my hub.- Weather Integration: Integrating local weather forecasts to avoid watering during rain is a must!I’ve heard that some users have successfully hacked Rainbird and Rachio systems to work with SmartThings, but I’m not sure how complicated that process is. Would love to hear from anyone who’s done this or has recommendations on the best devices to use. :cloud_with_rain:Also, I’m curious if anyone has experience with using weather data to adjust irrigation schedules automatically. Any tips or resources would be super helpful!Let’s make our gardens smarter and more sustainable together! :droplet::herb:
