I’m really excited to share my recent project where I integrated a smart exhaust fan in my kitchen using Shelly devices. The goal was to ensure the fan only runs when the window is open, which is a requirement from our chimney sweep. I wanted to make this setup as seamless and efficient as possible, so I decided to use a Shelly 1PM and a Shelly Door/Window sensor to achieve this.First, I connected the exhaust fan motor to the Shelly 1PM. This allows me to control the fan remotely and integrate it into my smart home system. Then, I installed the Shelly Door/Window sensor on the kitchen window to detect when it’s open or closed. The sensor communicates with the Shelly 1PM, creating a smart automation where the fan automatically turns on when the window is opened and turns off when it’s closed. This setup not only meets the chimney sweep’s requirements but also adds a layer of convenience and energy efficiency. I no longer have to remember to turn the fan on or off manually. The integration has been working perfectly, and I’m thrilled with how smoothly everything communicates.I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has tips for improving this setup. It’s amazing how much smarter and more efficient a home can become with the right smart devices!
