Hello everyone, I’m thrilled to share my recent adventure with smart lighting automation. After setting up my SmartThings hub, I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my home’s ambiance through dynamic lighting. One feature I’ve been particularly excited about is adjusting the light color based on the time of day, similar to what I’ve seen on the Hue app.
I started by integrating my Hue bulbs and motion sensors, which worked seamlessly. However, I wanted to take it a step further—automating the color temperature throughout the day. My goal was to have cooler tones during the day for a refreshing vibe and warmer hues in the evening for a cozy atmosphere.
Initially, I faced some challenges. The Hue app made it look straightforward, but translating that into SmartThings required some trial and error. I experimented with routines and smart apps, tweaking settings to ensure smooth transitions between color modes. It was a bit frustrating at first, but persistence paid off!
Now, my living room transitions from daylight to arctic aurora tones effortlessly. The motion sensors detect activity, and the lights adjust accordingly, creating a welcoming environment whether it’s morning or night. I’m also exploring how to integrate this with other devices, like my thermostat, to create a more cohesive smart home experience.
If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing these settings, I’d love to hear them! Happy automating everyone! ![]()
