I’ve been diving into smart lighting automation lately, and I thought I’d share some of my experiences and tips! ![]()
One thing I’ve been experimenting with is night mode automation using my Shelly Duo in the bathroom. My goal was to have the lights automatically adjust based on whether it’s within my defined night schedule or not. The idea is that if I manually switch the light on using the physical wall switch, it should remember the last settings if it’s outside of night mode, but switch to night mode settings if it’s within the scheduled timeframe. However, in practice, it’s been a bit hit or miss—it often just sticks to the last settings regardless of the time. Has anyone else encountered this issue or found a workaround? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Another project I’ve been working on is grouping multiple ZigBee remotes to control a single automation. I have a few OSRAM LEDVANCE mini switches that I’d like to group together so that pressing any button in the group triggers the same automation. Unfortunately, neither ZigBee Groups nor Home Assistant groups seem to be working as expected for me. If anyone has successfully set this up or has some troubleshooting tips, I’d be super grateful! ![]()
On a lighter note, I’ve also been exploring some creative lighting themes with my Govee LED strips. While the built-in themes are fun, I’d love to see more unique and customizable options. Anyone else feel the same way? ![]()
