Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting automation, and I wanted to share my experience with integrating voice controls. 
Setting Up the Flow:
I decided to automate my living room lights using Google Assistant. The goal was simple—say a command, and the lights would adjust accordingly. I started by pairing my smart bulbs with the Homey app. The setup was pretty straightforward: install the app, add the bulbs, and define the virtual device for automation. I used the Virtuele Apparaten app to create a modus for lighting scenes, which allowed me to toggle between different settings like ‘Evening’ or ‘Movie Night’.
The Voice Command Integration:
Next, I wanted to control everything with my voice. I followed Google’s guide on creating routines. I added phrases like, “Good evening, set the mood,” which would dim the lights and adjust the color temperature. It was a bit tricky at first—I had to be precise with my commands—but once it was set up, it worked like magic! 
A Little Hiccups Along the Way:
There was one hiccup though. Initially, the bulbs wouldn’t respond to voice commands consistently. I realized it was a connectivity issue. After resetting the bulbs and ensuring all firmware was up-to-date, everything started working smoothly. It’s amazing how a fresh restart can solve so many problems! 
Final Thoughts:
This project has been a fantastic way to enhance my home’s ambiance. The ability to adjust lighting with just my voice has made evenings and movie nights so much more enjoyable.
