Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting automation lately, and I wanted to share some tips and experiences that might help others set up more efficient scenes. ![]()
I recently installed a few Philips Hue bulbs in my bedroom and configured them as a group with the Hue bridge. The goal was to create a seamless lighting experience where I could adjust the brightness based on the time of day or specific activities. However, I ran into an issue where turning on one light in the group would automatically turn on all the others within 60 seconds. It was a bit frustrating, but I managed to troubleshoot it by adjusting the group settings in the Hue app. ![]()
Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is using motion sensors to control outdoor lights. I set up a Linear WAPIRZ-1 motion detector on my porch, and while it worked, it had a tendency to trigger false alarms due to temperature changes. After some research, I discovered that adjusting the sensitivity settings in the Vera Edge UI7 helped reduce the false triggers. It’s now working perfectly to turn on the porch lights when someone approaches. ![]()
I’d love to hear from others who have mastered smart lighting automation. What are your favorite tips or workarounds for creating efficient scenes? Let’s share and learn together! ![]()
