Smart Lighting Setup and Connectivity Tips

I’ve recently been diving into setting up smart lighting in my home, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with the community. It’s been a fascinating journey, and I’m excited to see how far I can take this project!

First, I started with the Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro A97 in pink, blue, and white. They’ve added such a vibrant touch to my outdoor space, and the RGBWW functionality has been a joy to work with. The ability to create preset scenes and control them via the Govee Home App has made my evenings much more enjoyable. I love how they can be integrated with voice assistants like Alexa and Google Home, making it seamless to adjust the lighting with just a command.

However, I’ve encountered a few challenges along the way. One issue I’m currently facing is with the connectivity of my Home Wizard Energy Socket. Despite following the instructions, I’m unable to get it to pair with my Homey system. I’ve tried resetting both devices and ensuring they’re on the same network, but it’s still not working. If anyone has any troubleshooting tips or has experienced a similar issue, I’d greatly appreciate any advice!

Another area I’ve been exploring is the automation of my Roborock vacuum cleaner. I’ve set up a series of automations that trigger segmented cleaning based on time and occupancy sensors. While the system works well, I’m looking for ways to streamline the setup using Node-RED. If anyone has experience with integrating Roborock with Node-RED or has any flow examples, I’d love to hear about your experiences!

On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with using smart lights to create a relaxing ambiance in my living room. I’ve found that adjusting the color temperature and brightness based on the time of day has a significant impact on the overall feel of the space. It’s amazing how technology can enhance our daily lives in such simple yet meaningful ways.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned so far, it’s to take it one step at a time and not get discouraged by setbacks. The community here has been incredibly supportive, and I’m grateful for the wealth of knowledge and resources available. I look forward to continuing my smart home journey and sharing more experiences along the way!

Thanks for reading, and happy smart home exploring!
