Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in setting up a smart lighting system in my home. After doing some research, I decided to go with the Aqara Light Strip T1 and the Aqara Colour Ceiling Lamp T1. Both devices have been a pleasure to work with, especially since they support Zigbee 3.0 and integrate seamlessly with my existing setup. The ability to control them via Apple’s Adaptive Lighting feature is a huge plus for me.
One challenge I faced was integrating my Somfy Glydea Curtain motor with my smart home system. Initially, I was using a device handler meant for blinds, which had some issues with open/close functionality. After some tinkering and reaching out to the community, I found a solution that not only fixed the functionality but also allowed me to customize the icons to better represent curtains. This was a great learning experience and a testament to the supportive community here.
I also wanted to mention the Wyze Smart Lock I recently installed. It’s been a game-changer for my home security. Using a contact sensor to monitor the lock’s state was a clever workaround, and it’s added an extra layer of security without the need for major door modifications. The community’s tips and tricks have been invaluable in making this setup work smoothly.
Looking ahead, I’m excited about the new products in the server user area. I can’t wait to collect more points to get some additional LEDs and maybe even a thermostat. It’s always inspiring to see new innovations and how they can enhance our smart homes.
