I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and weather integration, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with the community! 
Starting with smart lighting, I’ve been experimenting with both Govee and Shelly devices. The Govee string lights and ground lights have truly transformed my outdoor spaces, especially during gatherings—they’re a hit! For indoor use, I’ve paired these with Shelly switches, which have been a breeze to set up. The ability to control everything through a single app is a game-changer!
When it comes to weather integration, I’ve found OpenWeatherMap to be incredibly reliable. I’ve set up my local weather station and forecasts, but I ran into a small hiccup with the forecast days not updating properly. After some troubleshooting, I realized it was a configuration issue. If anyone else is facing this, double-check your API settings and ensure the correct number of forecast days is specified in your Things configuration!
Another tip I’d like to share is about third-party access. I recently added family members to my camera setup, and it’s been fantastic to keep everyone connected. Thankfully, the system allows me to toggle their access easily, which adds a layer of security and flexibility.
For those looking to integrate multiple brands, I’ve found that using a universal hub like Vera3 has been key. It seamlessly connects devices from various ecosystems, making my smart home truly unified.
