I’ve been really excited about diving into the world of smart lighting, but I must say, it’s been quite a rollercoaster. As someone who worked at a similar startup before Samsung acquired SmartThings, I understand the potential of these platforms, but the instability I’ve encountered has been frustrating to say the least.
Let me share my experience. I’ve been using the Aeon Gen5 Multisensors for internal light control, and while they work perfectly for motion and lux-based automation, there’s one stubborn automation that refuses to trigger. The lux value is received, but the automation simply doesn’t fire. This is happening in the same Smart Lighting app where other automations are working flawlessly. It’s beyond frustrating, especially when I’ve already tried submitting support tickets and waiting in long queues for chat support.
I wonder if others have faced similar issues. Is there a common workaround or a setting I might have missed? I’d love to hear from the community on how they’ve tackled this. Maybe there’s a configuration tweak or a different approach to automation that I haven’t considered yet.
On a more positive note, I’ve found that integrating multiple systems like LimitlessLED, CBus, and NCD with SmartThings has opened up a whole new level of home automation. It’s been a learning process, but seeing everything work together seamlessly is incredibly rewarding. I’m curious to hear if others have successfully integrated similar systems and what challenges they encountered along the way.
Let’s keep the conversation going! I’m hopeful that by sharing experiences and solutions, we can collectively overcome these hurdles and make the most out of our smart lighting setups.
