I’ve been using Insteon for about ten years, but it seems like Insteon is phasing out based on the lack of available products. I’ve built a simple system that I want to recreate using a Hubitat Elevation hub. Here’s what I’m looking to achieve:
- Wall Switch Control: I want an on/off wall switch that can control two plug-in modules. These modules will be used to operate lamps in my bedroom.
- Plug-in Modules: The modules should be able to operate lamps on nightstands. They need to be reliable and easy to set up.
- Keypads: I need two controllers, similar to the 8-button keypads I used with Insteon. One button should turn off its respective lamp, and another button should turn off both lamps (“All Off”). These controllers will be placed on the nightstands.
With the Insteon system, I used the ISY994i hub/controller to link controllers/responders and create a few scenes. Now, I want to replicate this functionality using Hubitat. I’ve heard great things about the Hubitat ecosystem, but I’m not sure which specific devices to use. Could someone recommend:
- A wall switch that works seamlessly with Hubitat?
- Plug-in on/off modules that are reliable and compatible?
- Keypads with at least 8 buttons for scene programming?
