Smart Plug Automation Success Story

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the ST Smart Plug and automations. I’ve been really impressed with how easy it was to set up and how reliable it is. Here’s my story:

I recently got a smart plug to monitor the power usage of an appliance in my kitchen. The setup was a breeze—just plug it in, pair it with the ST app, and I was good to go. I decided to create an automation to alert me if the appliance loses power, which would be super helpful for maintaining its functionality.

The automation worked perfectly… almost. I configured it to notify me via the app, but I noticed there was no audible alert. This was a bit frustrating because I wanted to be sure I’d hear the notification even if I wasn’t looking at my phone. I checked the settings and saw that “Audible Notifications” showed “No Devices,” which was confusing.

After a quick search on the forums, I found out that I needed to make sure my phone’s notification settings were properly configured for the ST app. Once I adjusted those settings, the audible notifications started working like a charm! Now, I get both a popup alert and a sound, which gives me peace of mind knowing I won’t miss any important notifications.
