Hello everyone! I’m excited to share my experience with setting up a smart plug schedule using my Shelly Plug S. I’ve been trying to optimize my solar energy usage, and I thought it would be great to have the plug turn on only when there’s an energy surplus from my solar panels. That part worked out well!
However, I ran into an issue when trying to add a time-based condition. I wanted the plug to activate only between Monday and Friday, from 1 PM to 7 PM. No matter how I entered the schedule, it didn’t seem to take the time condition into account. I ended up with a system that either ignored the time constraints or didn’t work at all.
After some research and trial and error, I realized that the Shelly Plug S allows for multiple conditions in a scene. By combining the solar surplus condition with the time-based schedule, I was able to create a system that works perfectly. It now activates only during the specified days and times.
For anyone else trying to set up something similar, I recommend checking the Shelly documentation for scene creation. It’s a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s very powerful. I’m now considering expanding this setup to other devices in my home to further optimize my energy usage.
