Smart Plug Selection and Usage Experience

Hi everyone! I’ve been expanding my smart home setup lately and I’m currently on the hunt for more smart plugs/outlets. I currently have one of the original ST Outlets and some Centralite Lowes Iris plugs. I love that these support both Zigbee and Z-Wave, which helps maintain a strong mesh network. However, I’ve heard these might be phased out, so I’m looking for alternatives.

I’ve been researching other options and came across the Wemo Mini, which seems well-rated. However, I’ve read mixed experiences with its compatibility with ST. I’d love to hear if anyone has had success or issues with it.

I also have a question about smart plugs and dimming. If a plug supports dimming, does the bulb need to be dimmable, or is it enough for the lamp to support it? I’ve heard that trying to dim an incompatible bulb might not damage it, but I’m not entirely sure.

Lastly, I’d love to know what plugs others prefer. I’ve had mixed experiences with the original ST outlets, so I’m curious if the newer versions have improved. Any recommendations or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your insights!
