Smart Shower Automation: A Game-Changer for My Home

I’ve recently set up a smart shower automation system in my home, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the results! Using a room humidity sensor and a door contact sensor, I’ve created an automation that reliably detects when someone is showering. :bath::sparkles:

Here’s how it works: when the bathroom door closes, the system records the initial humidity level. If the humidity increases by 5% or more, it triggers a notification letting me know someone is showering. The system also tracks how long the shower lasts and sends an end notification when the door opens again. :shower::droplet:

This setup has been incredibly handy, especially since our bathroom also serves as a toilet. Knowing when someone is showering helps manage bathroom usage more efficiently, especially with multiple people in the household. Plus, it’s been a fun project to work on with ChatGPT, though I had to tweak some of the YAML code to make it compatible with my system.

If anyone is looking to add a bit of smart convenience to their home, I highly recommend exploring shower automation—it’s a simple yet impactful way to enhance daily life! :dart:
