I wanted to share an exciting automation project I’ve been working on to monitor my water tank using a Tuya ultrasonic sensor integrated with Home Assistant. This setup has been a game-changer for keeping track of water levels and consumption in real-time.
The sensor measures water height, and all the magic happens within Home Assistant. I’ve managed to convert the raw data into liters, calculate daily, monthly, and annual consumption, and even set up alerts for low, medium, and critical water levels. The best part is how everything is visualized on a custom dashboard with color-coded indicators for easy monitoring.
If anyone is interested in adapting this setup for a different tank or sensor, or if you have suggestions for improving the calculations or visualizations, I’d love to hear from you! Check out the full project details and video on my GitHub repository linked below.
