Hi everyone, I’m currently on the hunt for a solution that can help me control my Behringer EP4000 amplifier from another room. The amplifier is in a separate room due to the fan noise, and I want to be able to turn it on and off remotely. I’ve been researching Z-Wave outlets that can handle heavy-duty appliances, but it seems like finding the right one is a bit of a challenge.
I came across the Intermatic HA02C Heavy-Duty Appliance Control Switch, but the manufacturer no longer makes it, and even the rep suggested it might not be the best option. Then I saw the Aeotec High-Power Z-Wave Switch, which sounds promising, but it’s not released yet. I’m wondering if this will be my best bet or if there’s something else I should consider.
I’ve also heard some people mention Aeon in these forums, so I’m curious about their offerings. Additionally, I haven’t purchased the SmartThings hub yet. Would this be a good choice for my needs? I might want to expand my setup in the future, like controlling a Firefly laser lamp when it arrives. Is there a monthly cost associated with using SmartThings? I’d prefer to keep things simple for now and control everything from inside my house without worrying about offsite access.
If anyone has any recommendations or experiences with similar setups, I’d love to hear about them! Thanks in advance for your help.
