Upgrading my HassOS installation from version 5.3 to the 5.4 beta was a breeze! I wanted to share my experience in case others are considering the upgrade and might benefit from knowing how straightforward the process was.
First, I made sure to back up my configuration files and any important data. Safety first, right? Then, I followed the official upgrade guide, which was clear and easy to follow. The most time-consuming part was actually waiting for the download to complete, but once that was done, the installation was quick and seamless.
One thing I appreciated was the ability to directly upgrade without needing a fresh install. This saved me a lot of time compared to previous upgrades I’ve done. After the upgrade, I checked all my integrations and automations to ensure everything was working as expected, and I’m happy to report that everything seems to be functioning perfectly.
If you’re hesitant about upgrading to the beta version, I’d definitely encourage you to give it a try. The improvements and new features make it well worth the effort. Plus, the community support is fantastic if you run into any issues.
