Soft reset kills Home assistant bridged integrations

Hi there. Just wanted to opine on a real hassle that initiated when my m3 hub could no longer connect with my matter devices (zigbee connections were good though). The matter devices in question were door and window sensors from ikea as well as a three door locks (u400). The sudden loss of the connectivity came after a reboot of my router. These matter devices were using the Aqara hub as primary controller as I want them to be monitored by the Aqara alarm system without having to go through Apple home or home assistant to detect a trigger. Long story short as all the devices were still available to Apple and HA I surmised that somehow the m3 lost ipv6 connectivity. Since there is no ui or other capability that I can see inside Aqara home app and rebooting did not fix it I was forced to do a soft reset (10 sec push off the button ). I found out the hard way that although it fixed connectivity to the matter devices, all the bridged matter devices in HA were immediately orphaned as apparently doing the reset causes all the internal id for the matter devices to change (I guess because the m3 gets a new id?) and needless to say it broke a bunch of integrations and automations and sensors. It took me hours to get it all back with the help of AI and a lot of renaming in HA. Can something be done so that this can be avoided? A network reset seems a bit extreme to just get ipv6 connectivity.

Hmmm, sounds similar to this:

Sounds similar, although in my case, I didn’t see any error message from Aqara that IPv6 was not enabled… and my router had it enabled (as all my matter devices were still available to other hubs)
… the only network info that was showing for the m3 was that It had an IPv4 address. Nothing about an IPv6.
