I’m not sure if this has been discussed before, but do you have any plans to release a camera powered by solar panels?
Running a power cable from the camera across the ceiling to an outlet by myself is really difficult.

I don’t think Aqara has announced anything related to Solar yet. But I’m right there with you. Would love to have a Solar powered G100 camera since I can’t run cables through the walls myself.

Definitely would be nice, but cameras are power hungry and my assumption would be that the battery/charging needs would make such a thing bulky. Or the capabilities would need to be limited to make it a manageable size.

I’m currently using a solar powered camera from another company, and it works perfectly without any issues.
Two of them have the camera and solar panel integrated into one unit, and another has the solar panel separate from the camera but it can be attached directly on top of the camera or, if desired, detached and installed elsewhere.
The hassle is that these cameras are from different companies, so I have to switch between apps every time I want to monitor them.
If Aqara were to release a solar-powered camera, I would replace them all immediately.

I had a non-solar camera from another vendor. I added a third party usb solar panel and it works well. Maybe not as clean as an integrated panel but it was more flexible as to where to place it.

What panel did you use? Did you also have to add a separate battery to run the camera at night? Would love to try something like this with my G100 in my bedroom

I think if anything, we have a better chance of Aqara releasing a separate Solar Panel & battery pack for their cameras.

I support this request. I’m using a Reolink with Solar Panel and it works perfectly. Would like to replace it with a G100. A sealed battery pack with a panel as a retrofit option would be nice.

I used a generic usb soloar panel. The camera I used it for has a battery and so far has been able to keep it running during the day. Unfortunately, this probably wouldn’t work for something like the g100 without a separate battery.
