Hey everyone, I wanted to share a quick update about a peculiar issue I encountered with my cameras during the recent Daylight Saving Time transition. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking when the clocks change, but this one threw me for a loop!
So, as the clock approached 2 AM, I noticed something odd happening with my camera feeds. Instead of smoothly transitioning to 1 AM, the time skipped a full minute! This wasn’t just a timestamp issue—it actually missed recording that first minute of video. It was a bit frustrating, especially since I rely on my cameras for security.
After some digging, I realized this wasn’t just a glitch on one camera. Out of my five cameras, four experienced the same time skip. The one that didn’t? A Wyze Cam Pan v3. Interesting! It seems like the issue might be specific to certain brands or firmware versions.
To fix it, I decided to update the firmware on all affected cameras. While that didn’t immediately resolve the issue, it did help ensure they were in sync afterward. I also reached out to the manufacturer for more insights, and they mentioned they’re aware of the problem and working on a patch.
In the meantime, I’ve set up a manual check during future DST changes to ensure everything stays in sync. It’s a minor hiccup, but good to be aware of!
If anyone else has encountered this or has additional tips, I’d love to hear about your experiences. Let’s keep the community informed and proactive!
Thanks for your understanding, and happy automating!
