Hi all, I wanted to share my recent experience with my Sonos system. I noticed that all my media items like current title, album, and artwork were staying UNDEF, even though other functions like volume control worked perfectly. I was a bit puzzled because I could see the track information in the logs, which made me think something was off with how the data was being processed.
After some research and digging through forums, I realized that the issue might be related to how my Sonos binding was configured. I decided to check the logs more closely and noticed that the metadata was being received but wasn’t being displayed correctly. This led me to explore the binding settings and update them to ensure compatibility with the latest firmware.
Here’s what I did:
- Updated the Sonos binding to the latest version.
- Restarted the binding and the Sonos devices.
- Cross-checked the logs to ensure all metadata was being parsed correctly.
To my relief, the issue was resolved after these steps! The media information started appearing as it should. It was a bit of a journey, but it taught me the importance of keeping bindings up to date and thoroughly checking logs.
