Solving Lutron Pico Keypad Issues in Smart Home Setup

I’ve been diving deep into home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! However, I hit a snag recently with my Lutron Pico keypad. Let me share my experience in case anyone else is facing similar issues.A few weeks ago, I installed a Lutron PJ2-4B-GWH-L31 pico keypad to control my bedroom lights. The setup seemed straightforward, but I quickly noticed something was off. Instead of the expected button values (1, 2, 3, 4), the keypad was returning 8, 9, 10, and 11. This threw off all my automations, especially the fan control in my master bedroom. It was frustrating to see the keypad recognized by the Lutron Integrator app but not passing the correct values to my devices.I scoured the forums and documentation, and it turns out this is a known issue with the latest Lutron OS update (12.8.0). The keypad’s button values are offset, and there’s no direct way to adjust this in the RadioRa 2 software. After some trial and error, I found a workaround by manually adjusting the event triggers in my automation software to match the new button values. It wasn’t ideal, but it got my fan control working again! This experience taught me the importance of checking firmware versions and being ready to tweak settings when integrating new devices. I’m grateful to the community for their insights and troubleshooting tips. If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m happy to share what I’ve learned! It’s amazing how a little problem-solving can turn a frustrating situation into a learning opportunity. Here’s to more smooth integrations and less WAF (wife acceptance factor) issues in the future!
