Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to share my experience with integrating the Sonoff RF Bridge into my Home Assistant setup. While the process seemed straightforward at first, I encountered a peculiar issue that had me puzzled for a while. I hope sharing my journey might help others facing similar challenges.
Initially, the RF Bridge appeared in HA as expected, complete with its entities. However, it was marked as deactivated, with a message stating, ‘The device has been disabled by a configuration entry.’ Despite multiple attempts to reactivate it through the interface, nothing changed. Other Tasmota devices were functioning without any issues, which only added to my confusion.
After some research, I realized the problem might be related to the Fritz!Box Tools integration. I had disabled this integration earlier due to an overwhelming number of devices appearing in my list during initial setup. Unbeknownst to me, this action inadvertently affected the RF Bridge. My first instinct was to simply try reactivating the bridge, but it didn’t resolve the issue.
Eventually, I decided to delete the problematic configuration entry and restart the setup process. To my relief, the RF Bridge came back online without any further issues. This experience taught me the importance of understanding how different integrations can interrelate within HA. It also highlighted the value of thoroughly reviewing configuration settings, especially when troubleshooting.
If anyone else is encountering similar issues, I recommend checking your integrations and ensuring that disabling one doesn’t inadvertently affect others. Happy automating!
